The government's effort for more than 50 years to develop Islam has shown effectiveness specifically in the field of religious education and dakwah propagation that has a good infrastructure such as education institution, mosque institution, dakwah, fatwa institution, syariah judiciary and law institution with the support of the field of broadcasting and information such as radio, television and print media. Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs emphasised on the matters at the Launching Ceremony of Youth Religious Programme under the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The ceremony was held this morning at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Yang Berhormat Pehin said that the Ministry of Religious Affairs as the main pioneer in the religious field will always be sensitive on religious activities among them by organising youth religious programme which certainly will further enhance activities in religious programme by youth groups. Yang Berhormat Pehin added that the objective of organising the youth religious programme is to continue supporting and not to neglect the importance of youth activity in the religious field.
The ceremony ran concurrently with the presentation of appointment letter to the mentors, activists and memberships to 18 youth groups in the programme. The youth religious programme is an entity under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and chaired by the Islamic Dakwah Centre and Mosque Affairs Department. The programme is under the committee which will become a mentor and activist to guide and monitor youth groups in conducting religious programmes so that the youth group will be more creative in religious activities.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs is a ministry with the role to strengthen the formality and the Islamic religious practises as a complete way of life towards achieving a Zikir Nation and Baldatun Taibatun Warrabun Ghafur. Since few years back, association and youth group are actively involved in youth programme including in the religious field which is a positive development. Also present was Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs.
