7 officers and staff of the Ministry of Finance and its department received the Pingat Kerja Lama (PKL) or Long Service Medal in conjunction with the 70th birthday of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam for the year 2016. The award ceremony took place yesterday at the Ministry of Finance.
Awang Ahmaddin bin Haji Abd Rahman, the Permanent Secretary of Policy at the Ministry of Finance it his speech among other things hoped that the medal award will become an incentive and encouragement for the recipients to improve their quality of service, and act as a motivation for all staff at the Ministry of Finance and its department to continue providing services that are excellent and more trustworthy, innovative and dedicated in upholding the government's effort as well as initiative towards Wawasan Brunei 2035.
The medals were presented by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance. The presentation of medals is a show of appreciation and proofs of the recipient's contribution towards the monarch and government, and for carrying out their entrusted duties. Recipient comprised of those who have been in service for 20 years and above. Among those in attendance were Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hisham bin Haji Mohammad Hanifah, the Deputy Minister of Finance for Fiscal, and Dato Paduka Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, the Deputy Minister of Finance for Investment.
