One Hundred And Forty Nine officers and staff of the Prime Minister's Office and departments under it received Long Service Medals, PKL in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 70th birthday celebration for 2016. The medal presentation ceremony was held this morning at the Banquet Hall of the Prime Minister's Office Building.
The Long Service Medals were presented by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance. The presentation of medals is recognition and a show of appreciation by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's government towards civil servants who have been in service for over 20 years. Apart from having a clean service record, the recognition also further enhances the motivation of the recipients to continue their devoted services to the government and country.
Also present were Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mohd Roselan bin Haji Mohd Daud, the Acting Minister of Energy and Industry at the Prime Minister's Office; Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Paduka Dayang Hajah Hayati binti Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Mohd Salleh, the Attorney General; the Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; the Commissioner of Police; the Deputy State Mufti; the Chairman of Public Service Commission; the Auditor-General as well as Permanent Secretaries and Deputy Permanent Secretaries at the Prime Minister's Office.
