Lowering Of the Large Size National Flag

After flying proudly in the centre of the capital during the 35th National Day celebration, the huge National Flag was lowered in a ceremony which displayed the patriotic spirit of those involved and the people and country they represented. The ceremony marked the end hoisting the National flag at the houses of the people, government and private sectors buildings in conjunction with the National Day. It took place at the open area of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex.

The large size National Flag was handed over by a contingent of the Royal Brunei Navy to Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, the Deputy Minister of Relgious Affairs. The extra-large National symbol was raised on the 16th of February in conjunction with the National Day anniversary. In attendance were Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Datin Paduka Doctor Hajah Norlela binti Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. The celebration continues with side events.
