Islam is a religion that gives its ummah or followers the opportunity to change and migrate for the better. Islam also shows different types of hijrah or migration that can improve a Muslim such as reading Al-Quran which guides one in problem solving, giving sadaqah or alms which shows one's gratitude and sincerity and brings blessings as well as rewards from Allah the Almighty. These were highlighted in a talk titled, 'the Great Hijrah' by Awang Haji Khairul Nazif bin Haji Awang Damit, an Assistant Lecturer at the Sultan Syarif 'Ali Islamic University, UNISSA yesterday afternoon during a celebration of the new year of 1440 Hijrah held by the Prime Minister's Office and its departments.
The function was attended by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohammad Daud, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office. The celebration was further enlivened with the recital of Zikir and Salawat. Also present was the Chairman of the Public Service Commission, Permanent Secretaries and Deputy Permanent Secretaries at the Prime Minister's Office. The event was organised by the Narcotics Control Bureau, NCB and the Secretariat of the Internal Security Committee, the Prime Minister's Office. It is organised annually with the aim of fostering better relations among the officers and staff of the Prime Minister's Office and its departments.
