MABIMS Informal Annual Meeting

The Muslim ummah must complement efforts to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19 infection with spiritual practices, such as seeking protection from Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala and be resilient and calm in facing it. According to the Minister of Religious Affairs, Muslims need to believe that the outbreak did not come for nothing, there is wisdom behind it. This is because a pandemic is a test of the quality of psychiatry, mental and physical endurance as well as spiritual. Speaking at the Religious Ministers Informal Annual Meeting of Brunei Darussalam, Republic Indonesia, Malaysia and Republic of Singapore, MABIMS virtually, Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman explained that MABIMS’ Strategic Plan for the next five years shows the preparedness of MABIMS to carry out various programmes.

Yang Berhormat Pehin said that MABIMS must think of the best way to succeed in new programmes and implement the previous Strategic Plan’s programmes. MABIMS also should re-evaluate the existing programmes that have been interrupted.

During the meeting, the MABIMS Religious Ministers has launched the MABIMS Strategic Plan book 2021-2025. This year, the Republic of Indonesia hosted the MABIMS Informal Annual Meeting. The meeting also saw the handing over of roles and duties by Brunei Darussalam as the Permanent Liaison for two years to the Republic of Indonesia. Also joining was Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs.
