Various parties in the country continue to glorify the holy month of Ramadhan by organising religious activities. The delegation from the Ministry of Home Affairs and Departments under it as well as Mukim and Village Consultative Councils yesterday afternoon held a Tadarus Al-Quran Ceremony at Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque in Kuala Belait.
The delegation was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar Bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs. The ceremony ran concurrently with presentation of donations to 11 orphans as well as wakaf or endowment for the mosque usage to Awang Akup bin Haji Lamat, Mosque Affairs Officer at Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque. Also present was Member of the Legislative Council.
The Islamic Da’wah Centre, Ministry of Religious Affairs also held a similar ceremony with the Muallaf or new converts at Kampung Selapon Da’wah Post in Temburong District. In attendance was Awang Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh, Director of Islamic Da’wah Centre. The annual activity was organised by New Converts Development Section (New Converts Welfare) in collaboration with the Districts Da’wah Unit.
