Kampung jerudong: The Makan Tahun Pantai Siandang event, held on the morning of June 6th in Kampung Jerudong, represents a significant tradition in the community, symbolizing gratitude, unity, and strong family bonds among the village residents.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the event was organized by the Kampung Jerudong 'B' Consultative Council in collaboration with the Kampung Jerudong 'A' Consultative Council and the Kampung Jerudong Kedayan Heritage Association. The Brunei Muara District Office supported the gathering, highlighting the importance of traditional customs in fostering community spirit.
The event was graced by the presence of Awang Haji Afif Daraina bin Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Badaruddin, the Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Traditional foods such as kelupis, wajid, lapat, lamban, dalamu, and sumboi-sumboi were prepared, showcasing the village cuisine passed down through generations. The festivities at Siandang Beach will continue until June 7th, 2026, offering a platform for cultural expression and communal harmony.
