Themed, "Have Patience; Make an Effort, Contribute," the "Making the Way Home" Reintegration Forum aims to broaden public perspective of former inmates and restore their confidence to enable them to venture into the entrepreneurial world and contribute towards their family, community and nation. The forum was held in conjunction with the 63rd anniversary of the Prisons Department's establishment.
Present at the Forum was Awang Haji Idris bin Haji Md Ali, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs. Entitled, "Transformation of Supervised Companions towards Entrepreneurship: A Prospect or Final Alternative, " the forum was chaired by Pengiran Shahridin bin Pengiran Embran, Head of Spiritual, Moral and Behavioural Section of the Maraburong Prison Institution. Four panellists presented their respective working papers; among them disseminating information on the Prison's Department's Counselling and Supervisory Services and their aims. They focused on the efforts to assist re-integration of former inmates into the community, as well as the role of the Vocational and Skill Training Section and shared information from the supervised companions who have succeeded in the entrepreneurial field. Also attending the Forum were Yang Berhormat Haji Umarali bin Esung, a Member of the Legislative Council and Awang Haji Ismail bin Haji Murat, the Director of Prisons.
