The translation of the Sea Write Award recipients' works needs to be given priority in order to disseminate them at the regional and international levels. At the same time, the recognition capabilities at the international level need to be planned in exposing the local writers specifically the young ones.
These were among the matters adopted at the end of the 6th Brunei Writers Gathering Resolution. The resolution was tabled during the 'Malam Semarak Sastera Era Kebawah Duli', last night. While delivering the resolution, Awang Haji Jawawi bin Haji Ahmad, the Second Head of Asterawani also underlined that the allocation of publication cost needs to be adjusted according to the current publication's need and want. This is to encourage the development of book and magazine publication as a heritage inventory of a country and nation. According to Awang Haji Jawawi, a skilled local translator is required to reduce the cost of translation. In an interview with RTB, Professor Ampuan Doctor Haji Brahim bin Ampuan Haji Tengah, the First Head of ASTERAWANI hoped that ASTERAWANI can produce young writers for the future of the association.
Last night's function was highlighted with poetry and monologue presentation by the local poets. The gathering was organised by the local writers association, ASTERAWANI Brunei Darussalam in collaboration with the Language and Literature Bureau and supported by the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
