The mass gatherings and processions marking the Maulidur Rasul were also held in Belait, Tutong and Temburong districts. The events showed the great and elevated status of Islam in the country and how Islam as a religion gathers and unites Muslims in each district.
In Belait District, the Maulidur Rasul gathering or assembly and procession took place at Padang Bandaran in Kuala Belait. The annual event reflected the strength and unity of the country's citizens and residents especially the Muslim ummah. Taking part in the event was Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, the Deputy Minister of Education. The event began with the reading of Al-Quran by Awang Ahmad Zulwaqar bin Suhaili, the winner of the 8th South East Asian Youth Al-Quran Reading Competition 2017.
In a special talk titled, "The Messenger of Allah: Example of A Just Leader", Awang Haji Muhammad Nazir bin Haji Othman, Religious Development Officer at the Islamic Da;wah Centre, Ministry of Religious Affairs described the special aspects of the Prophet's leadership which brought a better and more orderly way of life to the followers of Islam. He said the Messenger of Allah was not only a reat Prophet and leader but was also well versed in politics, social, economy and defence.
Doa selamat and salawat were led by Awang Mohd Shahirwandy bin Samsudin, the Imam of Lorong Tiga Selatan Landless Indigenous People Housing Scheme Mosque in Seria. The 3-kilometre procession around Belait Town saw the participation of four thousand, two hundred people representing 43 teams comprising of government officers and staff, uniformed organisations and the private sector. Besides showcasing the strong unity of Muslims, the event also reflected the devotion of the district's Muslims in following the teachings of the Messenger of Allah.
The celebration in Tutong District also showed Muslim solidarity in commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalam. Although the Messenger of Allah left the ummah fourteen centuries ago, his teachings and examples continue to enlighten the ummah as they seek Allah's blessings in this world an in the Hereafter. The Tutong Civic Centre field was the focal point of the Maulidur Rasul in the district. Participating in the event was Dato Paduka Awang Haji Jamain bin Haji Julaihi, the Deputy Minister of (Energy) and Industry at the Prime Minister's Office.
The reading of Al-Fatihah was led by Awang Md Didy Normady bin Hj Awang Ahmad, Mosque Affairs Officer and Head Imam of Kampung Telisai Mosque. Dikir Marhaban was presented by Tutong District Mosques Youth Group. Doa Selamat was led Awang Md Didy Normady bin Haji Awang Ahmad, Mosque Affairs Officer and Head Imam of Kampung Telisai Mosque. The Salawat was led by Awang Haji Junaidi bin Haji Sabtu, former Imam of Kampong Telisai Mosque.
Nearly five thousand people representing 46 teams comprising of government officers and staff, uniformed organisations, school students and pupils as well as the private sector took part in the 3.1 kilometre procession around Tutong town. The participation of all levels of the community displayed the great respect or regard Muslims in the country have for the sacrifices, struggles and unrelenting hardwork of the Messenger of Allah in spreading Islam. It was also a renewal of their resolve to continue following the teachings of the Prophet.
In Temburong District, a similar event took place at Bangar Town Civic Centre field. Taking part was Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar, the Deputy Minister of Development. The gathering began with the reading of Al-Fatihah led by Awang Haji Shafrillah bin Haji Ahmad, Mosque Affairs Officer, followed by Quran reading by Awang Mohammad bin Ali, the Winner of the Moscow International Quran Reading Competition in Russia in 2014.
Dikir Marhaban was presented by members of Temburong Mukim and Village Consultative Councils. Doa selamat was read by Awang Haji Shafrillah bin Haji Ahmad who also led in reciting the salawat.
Before starting the procession, Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Suhaimi presented certificates of participation to the teams taking part in the event. Almost one thousand, five hundred people representing 42 teams took part in the 2.4 kilomtre procession. They comprised of government officers and staff, assciations, youths, as well as Mukim and village Consultative Councils in the District. The Mualidur Rasul that took place simultaneously in the four districts not only aimed to remind the people to remember the sacrifices of the Messenger of Allah but also the Prophet's struggles the bring significant changes to the community. Commemorating the Muaildur Rasul is a way to empower the ummah's faith and belief.
The Temburong event continued with the presentation of prizes to the best teams in the procession. The Mosque Takmir team of Rataie National Housing Mosque came in first followed by the Kamnpung Bokok Consultative Council in second place and Kampung Selangan Mosque Takmir and Village Consultative Council was third. Muslims in Brunei Darussalam have been reminded to recite the salawat for the Messenger of Allah besides emulating the struggles of the Prophet and the Companions in spreading Islam to the world world. Allah humma Soli 'ala Sayyidina Muhammad.
