Media Conference on COVID-19 New Normal

In the past one week, the number of COVID-19 cases reported in Brunei Darussalam is stable at an average rate of about 1,370 cases per day. A total of 63,125 ART results were uploaded to the BruHealth app within one week of which 15.1 percent were positive. The Minister of Health stated the matter at the media conference on COVID-19 New Normal held at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health yesterday afternoon. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar also explained the number of cases in Categories 4 and 5 remained low. Yesterday, 3 cases are in Category 5 while 3 cases are in Category 4.

Over 99 percent of the cases detected within the past week have been categorised in Category 1 or 2 and do not require hospital treatment. As of yesterday, 3 July 2022, the COVID-19 vaccination coverage in Brunei Darussalam continues to increase. 73.3 percent of the country’s citizens and residents have received the third dose vaccination, while 2.9 percent have also received the fourth dose. 75.7 percent of second dose vaccinations were administered to children aged 5 to 11. Meanwhile 50.3 percent of adolescents aged 12 to 17 years old have received the third dose vaccination. The public are reminded to upload their ART results, whether positive or negative in the BruHealth app to assist the Ministry of Health monitor the infection situation.
