His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, the President of Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council yesterday afternoon attended a Media Conference on the 30th SEA Games 2019 in the Republic of the Philippines. The media conference was held at the Lecture Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.
Upon arrival, His Royal Highness was welcomed by Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.
During the media conference, Pengiran Mohammad Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Permanent Secretary for Administration, Finance and Estate at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports conveyed that Brunei Darussalam will take part in the 30th SEA Games in the Republic of the Philippines this year. 87 national athletes will take part in 14 or 56 sports events competed. These include Polo; Netball, Football, Lawn Bowling, Pencak Silat; Fencing; Taekwondo; Wushu; Tenpin Bowling; Aquatics; Golf; Billiards and Karatedo.
In total the Brunei Darussalam contingent composes 163 athletes and officials led by Haji Muhd Zamri bin Dato Paduka Haji Hamdani, Second Vice President of Brunei Darussalam Olympic Council as Chef de Mission. He will have two Assistants. There will also be 45 coaches and technical officers, it managers and 20 Secretariat Officers.
