To encourage exchange of views and ideas that are constructive to strengthen relations between the Ministry of Defence and the media, apart from exploring other fields that have the potential for sharing or cooperation, the Ministry of Defence held the Media Get-Together with Media event yesterday afternoon.
This year's Media Day carried the theme 'Rakan Media, Rakan Strategik' or Media Partner, Strategic Partner, where the media was given the opportunity to take part in the obstacle course activity. Such an activity provide the opportunity for the media to interact and at the same time, experience one of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF's basic trainings. With this activity, the media also can improve communication skills, teamwork and expand their work network among local and private media as well as the Ministry of Defence.
At this event, the media was invited to a high tea hosted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yusof, the Second Minister of Defence. The media also had the opportunity to interact with the Second Minister of Defence as well as senior officers of the Ministry of Defence and the RBAF.
The Second Minister of Defence then presented prizes to the obstacle course winner. The event is hoped to further expand the cooperation network and strengthen relations between the media and the ministry. Also present were Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, the Commander of RBAF, and Retired Captain Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Rahman bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence.
