The Ministry of Religious Affairs has achieved various developments in fields related to religious affairs. Among them are religious education, mosque affairs, halal food, zakat collection and the development of Islamic eminence in the country. In line with this, the Ministry will continue its effort to increase the capacity and improve the professionalism of its officers.
Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs highlighted the matter during a Meeting between the Ministry of Religious Affairs and members of the Legislative Council, yesterday.
Yang Berhormat Pehin added that the Ministry will also ensure that the country's new generation who are fortunate to gain good education will be able to qualify themselves to be on par with their counterparts in other services.
The meeting was chaired by Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Emran bin Haji Sabtu, Penghulu of Mukim Bokok, Temburong District. The meeting aimed to share information about the strategic planning and initiatives carried out by several ministries particularly the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The meeting provided a platform for members of the Legislative Council and the Ministry to exchange views towards improving religious services and Islamic Syiar in the country, as well as share any developments on the ministry's latest activities and policies. Also present was Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
