Memorandum of Understanding and Agreement Signing

On the side-line of the events, a Memorandum of Understanding and Agreement Signing Ceremony between the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was held yesterday morning. The event was held at Al-Husseinieh Palace.

Three Memorandums of Understanding and one agreement were signed by ministers and senior officers of both countries. The Memorandum of Understanding on Defence Cooperation was signed, on behalf of the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, by Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces; and Lieutenant General Mahmoud Freihat, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces for the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The Memorandum of Understanding on Tourism Cooperation was signed by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs on behalf of the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam; and Her Excellency Lina Annab, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Meanwhile, the Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Partnership and Built Environment” was signed by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar, Minister of Development; and His Excellency Yahya Alkasbi, Minister of Public Works and Housing.

And the Agreement on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in Customs Matters was signed by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy; and His Excellency Dr. Izzeddin Kanakrieh, Minister of Finance.
