Mental health covers emotional, psychological and social well-being that influences how a person thinks, feels and acts. In conjunction with World Mental Health Day, last night we bring you a special report on Mental Health Awareness.

Brunei Darussalam is not exempted from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The outbreak has deeply affected mental health in general. According to a Consultant from the Department of Psychiatric Services, the public need to be more sensitive to the importance of maintaining mental health and knowing how to seek help. Aside from that, it is also vital to reduce the stigma on mental health.

In efforts to enhance mental health awareness, several programmes have been carried out by the Ministry of Health. It is to disseminate precise information on mental health to the public.

Strong support from all levels of society is needed to together address mental health problems by allocating personal time for various spiritual and physical activities.
