Message in Conjunction with 31st Teacher’s Day

‘Pendidikan Berkualiti Teras Kecermelangan Pelajar’ or Quality Education, the Core of Students’ Excellence is the theme for the 31st Teacher’s Day celebration. The theme is inline with efforts in making quality knowledge and education as the core to produce a knowledgeable and skilled generation that will contribute to the nation’s development towards achieving Wawasan Brunei 2035.

In a message in conjunction with Teacher’s Day, the Minister of Education and Minister of Religious Affairs explained that teachers will continue to face various challenges from unexpected global crises, making the their tasks even more strenuous. Such challenges demand high commitment and the need to adapt to new normals, and expect new normals in the future. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman and Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman stated that this year is the second time that Teacher’s Day was celebrated during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite facing many major challenges, teachers can face these challenges effectively with diligence and dedication.

In the message, the Minister of Education said despite these challenges, teachers have stepped forward to respond to the government’s call to diligently educate the students to ensure perpetuity of the generation’s development in the country. This situation proved that teachers are dynamic, adaptable and capable to act quickly to meet the need of new normal teaching and learning deliverance.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Religious Affairs said teachers have a vital role in making the National Education System a success that constantly evolves. Therefore, we place trust in teachers who will always prepare themselves for progress inline with the development of the nation’s education.
