In an effort to achieve the Wawasan Brunei 2035, the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam always prioritise the education sector to ensure that the country's quality of education continues to produce educated and highly-skilled generations who will then contribute towards the nation's peace as well as economic development. This was stated Datin Seri Paduka Doctor Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Acting Minister of Education at the Micronet International College's Convocation Ceremony yesterday morning.
According to the Acting Minister of Education, upon receiving the certificates and diplomas, she hoped that the graduates can further their studies to the next level, or apply their skills in the working world. She called for the graduates to be positive, and take advantage of the government's support by applying for jobs that are suitable to their respective fields either in the government or private sector.
The Acting Minister of Education also urged all agencies including private higher education institutions to evaluate their respective programmes and initiatives to ensure that they are relevant, capable of spurring the industry and contain components that can contribute towards the country's economy and well-being. This is so that the graduates produced are marketable and job-ready. 179 graduates of various courses received their certificates. Two students received the Special Merit Award for excellent academic achievement. Also present were Doctor Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education, and Dayang Nadia Lee Siew Hoon binti Abdullah, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Core Education at the Ministry of Education.
According to the graduates, the knowledge and skills that they gained throughout their course can assist them at work or when they further their studies to the next level.
