The Ministry of Education through the Estate Planning and Management Department in cooperation with the Higher Education Section yesterday afternoon organised a Doa Selamat Ceremony for the ministry's intending haj pilgrims. This year, a total of 81 officers and staff will perform the haj.
Present was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, Minister of Education and his Deputy, Datin Seri Paduka Doctor Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh. The ceremony was enlivened with a special talk entitled "Persediaan Rohani Menjadi Tetamu Allah" or Spiritual Preparation As Allah's Guest" delivered by Awang Haji Jufri bin Haji Hidup, Mosque Affairs Officer at Universiti Brunei Darussalam Mosque. The talk among other things reminded all intending haj pilgrims to make thorough preparation prior to their haj. Awang Haji Jufri added, intending haj pilgrims need to obey the set regulations as haj is performed as act of worship to Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala and it is too special for Muslims.
The ceremony ran concurrently with the presentation of donations to the intending haj pilgrims.
