To reap the blessings in the month of Ramadhan, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the departments under it as well as Mukim and Village Consultative Councils have conducted religious ceremonies and Tadarus Al-Quran in the districts. The delegation yesterday afternoon made a visit to Kampung Belais mosque in Temburong. Leading the delegation was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Doktor) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs.
Apart from tadarus, the ceremony also included the reading of tahlil. The ceremony aimed to foster closer relations among officers and staff of the Ministry of Home Affairs, members of Mukim and Village Consultative Councils as well as grassroots leaders.
At the ceremony, the Minister of Home Affairs handed over an endowment in the form of a lawn mower for use by the Kampung Belais Mosque. Among those present were Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Emran bin Haji Sabtu, member of the Legislative Council; Awang Shamsul Bahrin bin Haji Mohd Hussain, Acting Permanent Secretary and Awang Salminan bin Haji Burut, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs; and Awang Md Amir Hairil bin Awang Haji Mahmud, Temburong District Officer. The delegation will continue its tadarus activity at the Pekan Seria mosque in the Belait district this Saturday.
