Gadong: The Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, along with its associated departments and authorities, organized a Khatam Al-Qur'an ceremony in conjunction with the month of Ramadhan. The event, managed by the Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam (MPABD), was held on 17th March 2026. It featured the distribution of contributions and a donation presentation to orphans and the underprivileged.
According to Radio Television Brunei, Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications, was present at the ceremony. The event included the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar Zikir and saw 11 orphans and 10 families, comprising MPABD staff members and residents of RPN Serasa, receiving donations and contributions. Additionally, an endowment was presented to a representative of the Brunei International Airport Surau.
