A $200 compound was issued by the Enforcement Division, Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Department to an individual for an offence under the Miscellaneous Offences Act 2021.
Malik Setia Budi was fined for disposing cigarette butt in public area, and was given 7 days to settle the fine or will be produced in court in default.
Meanwhile, another compound was issued to a company under the same Act for rubbish dumping in public area. Elmar General Contractor Sendirian Berhad located in Kampung Luagan Timbaran, Tutong District was fined $500 and were given 7 days to settle the fine.
The company will be produced in court in default of payment. If found guilty, a fine not less than $2,000 and not exceeding $10,000 will be imposed for the first offence, and a fine not less than $10,000 and not exceeding $30,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or both will be imposed for the second and subsequent offence.
