The Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation reminds any individual or company to always keep the environment clean. The warning was issued following a compound fine issued to an individual for violating the Miscellaneous Offences Act 2021. Hassan bin Hussein was fined $100 for the offence of throwing rubbish at Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas. He is ordered to settle the compound fine within seven days. If in default, the individual can be brought to court and if found guilty can be fined not less than $1,000 and not exceeding $3,000. For the second or subsequent offence can be fined not less than $3,000 and not more than $9,000, sentenced to imprisonment for a period not exceeding 6 months or both.
