“Raja Pencetus Inspirasi Generasi Berwawasan”, or “The Monarch Inspires A Visionary Generation” is hoped to bring public awareness in diversifying ways to educate the country’s young generation to appreciate and be grateful for the blessings and enjoyment of living in a monarchical nation.
This was among the messages conveyed through the special performances in welcoming His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to the Belait District for a Get-Together and Junjung Ziarah Ceremony with the people in the District in conjunction with His Majesty’s 69th Birthday Celebration, yesterday. The ceremony took place at Padang Bandaran in Kuala Belait.
Hundreds of students lined the road leading to Padang Bandaran, Kuala Belait, waving the miniature national flags to welcome the arrival of His Majesty and other members of the royal family.
Upon arrival at the Padang, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, the Minister of Home Affairs in his capacity as the Chairman of the Royal Birthday Celebration National Executive Committee, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major (Rtd) General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohamad Yussof, the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and Awang Haji Harris bin Othman, the Belait District Officer.
Accompanying His Majesty were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah and His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik.
Cheers of “Daulat Kebawah Duli Tuan Patik” from Mukim Penghulus, as well as Village and Longhouse Chiefs in the Belait District further enlivened the atmosphere at Padang Bandaran, Kuala Belait.
In expressing everlasting gratitude and undivided loyalty to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Belait District Officer, on behalf of all levels of the community in the district pledged their continuous commitment and support for His Majesty’s leadership.
He added that under HIs Majesty’s wise leadership, especially in generating development programmes and projects, the citizens and residents in the Belait District in particular have enjoyed peace, well-being and security.
His Majesty then consented to watch the final of the National Level ‘Tarik Kalat’ Competition in conjunction with His Majesty’s Birthday Celebration. The determining match in the ‘B’ Category for 1,100 kilograms saw the Brunei Muara District Team competing against Tutong District Team. Twelve teams from across the country took part in the competition which began on August 16.
The Get-Together ceremony was further enlivened with the Special Performance by a combined troupe of 769 participants comprising school students, youths, and representatives of ethnic groups in the Belait District. With the main theme, “The King Inspires a Visionary Generation,” this special performance portrayed a visionary generation who is highly-spirited, active, agile, proactive, resilient, progressive, and competitive in upholding the monarchical leadership and committed towards realising His Majesty’s aspirations and vision.
For Brunei Darussalam, The Monarch acts as an umbrella or shelter for the Nation, a symbol of harmony, unity, prosperity and well-being of the Nation. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam is also a protector of the lives of the citizens, residents and the multi-racial community who reside under His Majesty’s rule. This was among the messages conveyed through the performance reflecting His Majesty as an icon and inspiration to the nation’s generation.
The Monarch who draws inspiration was also illustrated through the oratory presentation a drama sketch by school students, portraying the leadership of a renowned and highly respectable Monarch who is caring and attentive towards the welfare of the people in the country.
This was further highlighted with the ‘Rampak Gendang Generasi Berwawasan’ or the ‘Beating of the Drums’ of the visionary generation, portraying unity among the young Bruneian generation in upholding and defending the Monarchical Governing System.
The Nation’s young generation as the country’s future leaders towards achieving the Nation’s Vision 2035 was translated via the dance performance demonstrating solidarity and togetherness in living as a community and in upholding the nation’s aspiration towards creating a Generation with Vision.
The highlight of the performance portrayed a visionary generation with a dynamic and progressive spirit, in upholding and defending a monarchical leadership and achieving His Majesty’s vision.
Once again the Cheers of “Daulat Kebawah Duli Tuan Patik” filled the air over Padang Bandaran Kuala Belait to mark the end of the Special Field Performance.
Also at this ceremony, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to present prizes to the winners of the National Tarik Kalat Final. The team from the Temburong District emerged the champion in the ‘A’ Category for Individuals 70 kilogrammes and below while the Brunei Muara Team won in the ‘B’ Category for combined weight of 1,100 kilogrammes.
The winning team in both categories each received the Challenge Trophy awarded by His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah as well as a cash prize of BND$2,000, an accompanying trophy and individual medals. The runner-up title in the ‘B’ category went to the Tutong District Team, which received a cash prize of BND$1,500, a trophy and individual medals.
His Majesty’s visit to the Belait district clearly showed his Majesty as a King and Statesman who always pays due attention to and great concern for the welfare of the rakyat and residents in the country.
