More than 28 thousand secondary and primary school students are studying at private schools in the country in the new 2018 academic session.
In Brunei-Muara District, around 21 thousand students are studying at 47 private schools, including international schools. As government schools, private schools also strive to achieve excellence in providing top quality education and in preparing the students for tertiary education and the job market.
Meanwhile, more than five thousand students are studying at 14 private schools, including international schools in Belait District. Tutong District in the meantime has registered more than one thousand student studying at six private schools. At the Chung Hwa in Tutong, pupils from Pre-school 3 or KG-3 up Year 6 started the new academic session last Tuesday. Meanwhile Pre-1 and Pre-2 pupils will start schooling on Monday.
Temburong District has only two private schools. This year, more than 100 students are studying at the private schools. All educational institutes, including non-government institutes play an important role in providing high quality education in line with efforts to achieve Wawasan Brunei 2035.
