Entrepreneurship is still needed in the various business fields and should be viewed as an opportunity by the country's people. It is possible that a lack of interest in the field among the locals has caused them to take the easy way of renting out business licenses to foreign entrepreneurs. Speaking during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Brunei Malay Chamber of Business and Entrepreneurship, DPPMB and LiveWIRE Sendirian Berhad, Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Abdul Hamid @ Sabli bin Haji Arsad, Member of the Legislative Council in his capacity as President of DPPMB explained that government agencies have taken a number of positive measures to reduce unemployment by providing business opportunities to local entrepreneurs.
Yang Berhormat also highlighted the efforts taken by corporate companies and hoped more would give their support to programmes that develop entrepreneurship and provide job opportunities to the locals. Yang Berhormat added, seeking knowledge and attending courses would help greatly in business.
Signing the MoU on behalf of DPPMB was Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Sirat, the Chamber's Secretary General while LiveWIRE was represented by Dayang Hajah Rosita binti Haji Hassan, Chairwoman of LiveWIRE Sendirian Berhad and In-Country Value Manager of Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sendirian Berhad.
