Brunei Darussalam provides two basic types of aid, namely food pack aid through The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, UNRWA specifically for the Gaza Strip and medical supplies, especially ambulances. The aid are collected from the Palestine Humanitarian fund 2021 which was open to the public for 3 months from 26th of May 2021 until 23rd of August 2021. The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding for the handing over of the donation took place yesterday afternoon at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, Berakas.
Present was Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. Earlier, Dayang Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari, Permanent Secretary for Community and Culture at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports said the allocation of more than $1 million was used as best as possible to convey the wishes of the people of the country to help the Palestinians. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Doctor Nur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of Ghanim International Corporation while The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East UNRWA was represented by its Director of Partnership, Karim Amer. Also present was Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs.
