Cebu city: On the side-lines of ATF 2026 in Cebu City, Philippines, Brunei Darussalam and the Kingdom of Cambodia have taken a significant step to bolster tourism ties through a Memorandum of Understanding. The MoU was signed by officials from Brunei's Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism and Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the MoU's objective is to enhance cooperation by exchanging best practices and experiences in tourism product development and capacity building. It also aims to support the promotion of both destinations through joint marketing initiatives. These initiatives include joint familiarisation trips, collaborative promotional campaigns, participation in tourism fairs and events, and knowledge-sharing programmes in tourism management and human resource development. The agreement also seeks to foster cooperation in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events (MICE) sector.
Representing Brunei was the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism, while the Kingdom of Cambodia was represented by His Excellency Mr. Hout Hak, Minister of Tourism. The collaboration is expected to strengthen the tourism sectors of both countries and create new opportunities for growth and development.
