Mudawalah Ilmiah Ceremony

One of today's main challenges for mankind is the inability to understand in-depth Islamic teachings. In other words, a large number of the muslim ummah are still and may not have obtained the correct and precise information on Islamic teachings as well as its laws. In reality, a lack in understanding the religion has given a negative impact in the practise of religious teachings in the daily life of the muslim ummah. In this regard, the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB, this afternoon held a Mudawalah Ilmiah ceremony or Academic Activity at the college.

Present was Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. The Mudawalah Ilmiah is a knowledge activity involving academics in discussing the issues of Maqasid al Syariah or The Syariah Philosophy, Islamic Law Methodology and Islamic Law Theories. Doctor Haji Abdul Rauf Muhammad Amin, Assistant Senior Professor, Syariah Faculty KUPU SB in his working paper stated that Maqasid Al-Syariah is a vital component in understanding and practising Islam thus every Islamic teaching has its own direction and objective. Meanwhile, Awang Azman bin Haji Kassim, Assistant Lecturer, Syariah faculty, KUPU SB among other matters discussed on Maqasid Islam from two aspects. Firstly is to establish from a positive aspect and secondly is to complete it.

Also present was Doctor Haji Adanan bin Haji Besar, Acting Raes of KUPU SB. Maqasid Al-Syariah knowledge has currently gained the attention of academics as it is believed to be able to provide a solution for various problems that arise in the lives of muslims, either religious or others such as economy, education and culture. The Mudawalah is hoped to act as a platform that will produce prospective teachers and youths of the country who can truly understand the Islamic teaching objectives and apply as well as explain it correctly and precisely.
