The Mukim to Mukim Contribute and Assist programme in the Tutong District is a continuous effort by the Tutong District volunteers, SUKA, with the cooperation of the Tutong District Office as well as the district's Mukim and Kampung Consultative Councils to help the underprivileged. The programme acts as a medium to distribute donations in the form of clothing to those in need.
For those wishing to contribute clothing can send it directly to the Tutong District Volunteers Building at Number 18 Simpang 172 Jalan Sungai Basong Tutong, which is open 24 hours. The programme was extended to Mukim Telisai yesterday morning.
More than 4 thousand pieces of clothing were distributed to selected recipients comprising single mothers and needy individuals. Present was Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Ramli bin Haji Lahit, member of the Legislative Council who is also the Penghulu of Mukim Telisai. Also in attendance was Awang Haji Adnan bin Haji Adam, the Acting Tutong District Officer as the Chairman of SUKA. The programme, which is now in its 6th edition, is one of the initiatives of SUKA to diversify its methods of providing assistance to those in need more effectively.
