Members of the Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore Religious Council, MABIMS should expand cooperation by looking at the importance of exploring new programmes in matters related to the study and propagation of Al-Quran. The Cooperation to expand the scope for Al-Quran propagation includes understanding the significance of verses in various educational fields, as well as understanding the verses with regards to laws and regulations in religious practises. The Minister of Religious Affairs stressed the matter during the second day of the Musabaqah Al-Quran Memorisation and Understanding for MABIMS member countries.
Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman in his speech also touched on the efforts of the Republic of Indonesia in producing the 'tafsir' or interpretations of Al-Quran. Such development, according to Yang Berhormat Pehin, can be part of the regional cooperation among the MABIMS member countries.
The second day of the competition saw 4 participants presenting their readings in the Memorisation of 30 Chapters of Al-Quran and Understanding of Chapter 22 category. This year, 8 participants from MABIMS member countries took part in the biennial competition. Two categories are being competed namely the Memorisation of 10 Chapters of Al-Quran and Understanding of Chapter 8 category as well as the Memorisation of 30 Chapters of Al-Quran and Understanding of Chapter 22. The results of the Musabaqah will be announced tomorrow during the National Level Nuzul Al-Quran Celebration 1438 Hijrah.
