Kampung jerudong: The Ministry of Health is taking steps to ensure prudent spending and effective cost management amidst unavoidable rising healthcare costs. This challenge arises from the increasing expenses associated with sophisticated medicines, medical equipment, and the growing number of patients with chronic diseases. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health, addressed these issues while chairing a Muzakarah session between the Ministry of Health and Members of the Legislative Council.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the Minister emphasized the ministry’s focus on prevention and early detection measures to manage long-term cost increases. This strategy includes health promotion campaigns, vaccination programmes, and early screening initiatives for non-communicable diseases.
The session also facilitated a dialogue for exchanging ideas, information, views, and proposals aimed at enhancing the quality of healthcare services for the well-being of citizens and residents.
