National Flag Hoisting Ceremony at All Four District

The National Flag Hoisting ceremony in conjunction with the 73rd birthday celebration of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was also held simultaneously at the district level. In the Brunei Muara District, the ceremony was held at the parking area of the Brunei Muara District Office.

The handover of the national flag was officiated by Retired Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Shahril Anwar bin Haji Ma'awiah, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, to be hoisted by the Royal Brunei Police Force accompanied by the national anthem by the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Cadet Band.

The function ran concurrently with the national flag distribution to 17 Penghulu Mukim in the district. Also in-attendance were members of the Legislative Council and Awang Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim, the Brunei Muara District Officer.

The Cendera Kenangan Recreational Park was the focal point of the National Flag Hoisting Ceremony in Belait District. The flag was later handed over by Awang Haji Abdul Manap bin Othman, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health, to the Royal Brunei Police Personnel to be hoisted. Also in-attendance were members of the Legislative Council and Awang Ramlee bin Haji Jamuddin, Belait District Officer.

Meanwhile in the Tutong District, the National Flag Hoisting Ceremony was held at Tutong District Civic Centre Complex. The flag was handed over to Doctor Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Permanent Secretary for Core Education at the Ministry of Education. The flag was then passed to the personnel of the Royal Brunei Police Force to be hoisted, accompanied by the national anthem. The function ran concurrently with the national flag distribution to Penghulu Mukims. Also present were members of the Legislative Council and Awang Shamsul Bahrin bin Haji Mohd Hussain, Tutong District Officer

Meanwhile, in the Temburong District, a similar ceremony took place at the Bangar Town wharf area. Present was Haji Zolkiflee bin Haji Abdul Karim, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry. The national flag was later hoisted by the Royal Brunei Police Force. Among those present were Members of the Legislative Council and Awang Abdul Ghani bin Haji Othman, Acting Temburong District Officer. The ceremony coincided with the national flag distribution to Penghulu Mukims, Head of branches for government departments in the district. The hoisting of the national flag which began today until the 31st of July is hoped to boost patriotism among the country's society at all levels and acts as a symbol of undivided loyalty to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
