National Flag Presentation Ceremony for 46th SSEAYP

The Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program's acts as a platform to learn and understand the varieties of socio-culture among the international participants. Hence, the programme participants are urged to strengthen respect among each other by building the lasting and memorable friendship with the participants from various races and nations. Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports made the call at the Handing over Ceremony of Brunei Darussalam Flag to the 46th Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Programme contingent this afternoon.

The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports believed that the programme is capable to provide a paradigm shift to the participants specifically in giving awareness on the vital role of youth generation to the community and country. The Minister puts high hope that the participants continue committed and become a catalyst to develop skills and experience for the future once they have completed attending the programme. Yang Berhormat urged them to join the SSEAYP alumni family to contribute ideas and services for the society and country.

The ceremony coincided with the flag presentation to the National Leader, Awang Shahminan bin Haji Md Yasin, Head of Arts Coach, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. The country's contingent is represented by 14 male youths and 14 female youths. The SSEAYP 2019 programme will take place for 51 days from 24th of October until 13th of December 2019, starting from Tokyo, Japan and will stop by in Vietnam, Singapore, Myanmar and Malaysia before heading back to Tokyo. Also in attendance were the Permanent Secretary and Deputy Permanent Secretaries at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

During the programme, the participants will be promoting Brunei Darussalam through various activities lined up such as seminar, cultural performance, Traditional games and food and many more.
