The Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam, AMBD continue its efforts to raise the public's awareness specifically students on the importance of savings and tackling financial issues. With the theme "Financial Literate Generation," the National Savings day roadshow was jointly organised with the cooperation of government and private agencies. Yesterday, the roadshow was held at the Chung Hwa Middle School in the capital.
This edition's roadshow focused on games and activities which involve secondary school students. Various interactive games and activities pertaining to Financial Management and Introduction to Currencies were lined up for the students. The National Savings Day roadshow is in line with AMBD's efforts to build a financially literate generation and achieve the objective of Wawasan Brunei 2035 to have a dynamic and sustainable economy as well as a highly skilled population. Among those present was Yang Berhormat Awang Ong Tiong Oh, Member of the Legislative Council who is also the Chairman of the Chung Hwa Middle School Board of Directors. The roadshow will also be extended to the other districts. Dayang Hajah Nurhuaida Fakhriah binti Haji Damit, Assistant Executive Director in an interview explained that the roadshow aims to help students to understand the importance of savings, financial budgeting, and obtaining insurance as well as impart information on current pyramid schemes.
