The Naubat Opening Ceremony was held late yesterday at the Lapau building in the capital. The Naubat had been closed for 14 days following the demise of Pengiran Anak Haji Ismail ibni Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Muda Haji Hashim on the 24th of July.
The ceremony took place in the presence of Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar. The ceremony commenced with a tahlil ceremony led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Imam Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Hamid bin Bakal.
Meanwhile, Doa Tahlil and Doa Allah Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doktor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.
The mass Fardhu Maghrib prayer was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar. Present were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria, Cabinet Ministers, Members of Councils, Deputy Ministers, Pengiran-Pengiran Peranakan, Pehin-Pehin Manteri and Manteri-Manteri Hulubalang.
The ceremony ended with Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz instructing Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Dewa Retired Major General Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Haji Mohammad bin Haji Daud to seek audience and inform His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam that the Naubat Opening Ceremony following the passing of Pengiran Anak Haji Ismail has been duly carried out.
