The Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism has given assurance that the supplies of broiler chickens, chicken eggs, buffalo and cow meat, fish, prawns and vegetables from local entrepreneurs as well as those imported from overseas and supermarkets are sufficient. This is the response of the ministry following the public's concern until a number of people has given into panic buying of necessities including agriculture and fishery commodities.
The assurance given should be made the basis for the public to no longer carry out panic buying of necessities including agriculture and fisheries commodities. For vegetable commodity supply namely leafy and fruit vegetables, the supply from local farmers providing a part of the local market requirements including the imported supplies is still carried out as usual to supplement the country's market demand.
This is also true for supplies of broiler chickens, chicken eggs, cow and buffalo meat, the supply from local entrepreneurs and imported supply is still carried out as usual to supply the local market needs.
The supply of fish and prawn commodities is also sufficient as fishing activities by local fishermen is still conducted as usual to supply a part of the local market requirements.
