Non-Governmental Organisations, NGOs and volunteers are hoped to increase their efforts to diversify their fields, especially in protecting the environment and helping the needy so that everyone can enjoy a prosperous and secure life. The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports stated this at the Commonwealth Lunch yesterday at the Berakas Forest Reserve Recreational Park.
The event which was organised by the British High Commission in Brunei Darussalam involved several NGOs including Green Brunei, the Beach Bunch and Hand FOUR Hand. The volunteers cleaned up the beach and planted 400 trees in the area. Among those present were Yang Berhormat Dayang Nik Hafimi binti Abdul Haadii and Yang Berhormat Dayang Khairunnisa binti Awang Haji Ahs'ari, Members of the Legislative Council.
