The Ministry of Finance and Economy and Departments under it yesterday afternoon held a Nuzul Al-Quran Celebration. The event organised by the National Development Plans Office and State Tender Board took place at the Theatre Hall of the ministry.
In attendance was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy. The event was highlighted with a special talk on Al-Quran as Kalam Allah, a guide for Muslims in this life and hereafter. The event coincided with a presentation of donations to 32 orphans from families of the officers and staff of the Ministry of Finance and Economy and Departments under it.
A similar event was also held by the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications and Departments under it as well as Statutory Bodies under it. In attendance was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Awang Mohammad Yusof, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications. Also held were a special talk on "Hebatnya Pencinta Al-Qur'an" and presentation of donations to orphans.
A Nuzul Al-Quran Celebration was also held by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. The ceremony ran concurrently with Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony and Presentation of Donations to Orphans. The ceremony took place at the Youth Development Centre. Present was Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. The ceremony was highlighted with a talk titled 'Jadikan Al-Quran sebagai Kekasih'.
