Official Luncheon

At noon, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri then proceeded to Baitur Rahmah, Istana Nurul Iman together with Yang Amat Berhormat the Prime Minister of Malaysia and Yang Amat Berbahagia Datin Sri for the Official Luncheon.

Also present were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi'atul 'Adawiyyah binti Pengiran Haji Bolkiah His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam; as well as other members of the Royal Family.

The Official Luncheon began with the recitation of a Doa Selamat by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Dr. Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

His Majesty in a titah expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia to ensure that the welfare and safety of citizens are continuously secured.

In the titah, His Majesty expressed appreciation for Malaysia's support to Brunei Darussalam as Chair of ASEAN last year.

This was followed by a speech from Yang Amat Berhormat the Prime Minister of Malaysia, in which Yang Amat Berhormat expressed appreciation for His Majesty's care and attention as seen through the assistance provided by His Majesty's Government to Malaysia at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Yang Amat Berhormat said this official visit has the potential to mutually benefit Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam through an understanding to initiate the Vaccinated Travel Lane, VTL for both countries.

Yang Amat Berhormat and spouse and delegation were in the country on a two-day Official Visit.
