At noon, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri, together with His Excellency the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and spouse, then proceeded to Baitur Rahmah for the Official Luncheon, along with members of the Royal Family and the delegation from the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
The Official Luncheon began with the recitation of Doa Selamat by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.
His Majesty in a titah praises the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam’s excellent achievements including the National Digital Transformation Program, and states that the signing of the Plan of Action is timely in further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
His Majesty in the titah thanks the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam for being a reliable partner in ASEAN.
This was followed by a speech from His Excellency, who expressed gratitude for the long-established relations between both countries and congratulated Brunei Darussalam on its achievements under His Majesty’s reign. In that regard, His Excellency also expressed confidence that Brunei would be able to achieve its economic transition and Wawasan 2035.
In efforts towards diversifying both economies, His Excellency highlighted that the signing of the Plan of Action for the Implementation of the Comprehensive Partnership 2023 – 2027 will give way to greater opportunities that will enhance further cooperation between the two countries. His Excellency also appreciated Brunei’s active support in multilateral forums such as APEC and the United Nations and hoped that the continued friendship will further deepen towards building the ASEAN Community.
His Excellency the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and spouse as well as delegation were in Brunei Darussalam on a two-day Official Visit.
