Open Day Offers Opportunity for the Public to Learn About the Courses

Programs and new courses offered by the Youth Development Centre can be learned during the centre's Open Day which began yesterday. The Open Day coincided with the Centre's 25th anniversary.

The function was officiated by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, who is also the Acting Minister of Health. It was also attended by Awang Haji Noor Jusmin bin Haji Abdul Samad, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The Open Day carries the theme "transforming the millennial generation skills". Part of the objectives is to introduce a series of new courses in line with the interest of the millennial generation as well as adapting their up-skill and re-skill recognition into the industrial markets based on the demands in the country. Various activities are lined up during the three-day interactive between the graduates and visitors.

There is also a career promotion campaign in assisting the graduates into looking for employment opportunity. Meanwhile on Sunday, the centre will organise a 21-kilometre cycling expedition and a 3-kilometre walkathon. Entrance is free for members of the public. Visitors can browse the exhibition from nine in the morning until half-past-four in the afternoon.
