Opening of ‘Hikmat Bersatu’ VI Exercise

The Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF is holding a joint exercise dubbed the 6th ‘Hikmat Bersatu’ Exercise starting yesterday until the 31st of July. The Hikmat Bersatu Exercise provides a comprehensive training opportunity for the RBAF, set in contemporary scenarios to evaluate the RBAF’s tactical and operational levels in joint military operations along with reviewing the units’ Standard Operating Procedures. The focus of the exercise relates to non-traditional security threats including counter-terrorism and counter-illegal activities. The Exercise commenced yesterday morning at the Drill Grounds, Berakas Garrison.

The opening was officiated by Major General Udara Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, Commander of the RBAF. The exercise involves all units of the RBAF, namely the Royal Brunei Land Force, Royal Brunei Navy, Royal Brunei Air Force , Joint Force Headquarters and Special Force Regiment. Also participating in the exercise are the Royal Brunei Police Force, the Gurkha Reserve Unit, Second battalion of the Royal Gurkha Rifles, British Forces Brunei and District Offices which will involve the waters of Brunei Darussalam as well as several rural, residential and commercial areas in the four districts.
