Opening of Induction Programme for New Teachers

Teachers still need to strive to improve student involvement in learning which challenge them intellectually and also to develop a high level of thinking skill. Several initiatives have been and are currently being carried out by the Ministry of Education to support such aspiration. New teachers should use the induction program to expand their knowledge and expertise in providing quality education to students. The Official Opening of the Induction Program for New Teachers 2017 was held yesterday morning at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.

Present was Dayang Nadia Lee Siew Hoon binti Abdullah, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the Ministry of Education. One hundred and 78 new teachers from the Ministry of Education are attending the three-day induction program. The program aimed at imparting knowledge on the National Education System for the 21st Century or SPN-21 in order to achieve the ministry's expectations, as well as to provide exposure and introduction in matters pertaining to the administration, management as well as professional teaching and learning at the Schools Department. The program is hoped to prepare new teachers in carrying out their duties as educators, who possess the knowledge as well as to support policies and initiatives implemented by the Ministry of Education.
