The Narcotics Control Bureau, NCB has foiled another family drug trafficking syndicate operating within the Tutong District and Belait District in a series of operations named ‘Operasi Bulls Eye’. The drug trafficking syndicate was believed to be masterminded by Mohamad Shahebol Sham bin Suan and family. The NCB has conducted ‘Operasi Bulls Eye’ since March 2021, but the main suspect managed to escape and was believed to be hiding until he was caught on the 28th of May 2021 at a house in Kampung Jerudong.

Mohamad Shahebol Sham bin Suan, the main suspect of ‘Operasi Bulls Eye’ was among those apprehended in 5 operations conducted from the 3rd to the 28th of May 2021 at 18 identified locations in several districts. This included 7 locations in the Brunei Muara District, 10 in Tutong District and 1 in Belait District. 38 people have been apprehended comprising 29 men and 9 women aged between 17 to 60. Majority are locals, while 4 are permanent residents and one is a foreigner.

This can be charged under Section 3A of the Misuse of Drugs Act, MDA, Chapter 27 for the possession of controlled drugs for the purpose of trafficking over 100 grams which leads to death by hanging. This is the second largest drug seizure after the 1 point 7 kilogramme Syabu seized in March.

Apart from that, an Erimin Five pill as well as several drug paraphernalia were also discovered.

Also confiscated were items believed to be proceeds from drug trafficking activities including various brands of jewellery, watches, electronics, musical instruments and 8 cars.

The arrest is still under investigation under various sections as follows:
