Bandar seri begawan: The Department of Immigration and National Registration recently executed an operation known as ‘Operasi Panyap’ targeting a business company in Mukim Berakas A.
According to Radio Television Brunei, during this operation, a foreign national was issued a Special Pass due to the violation of working while holding a visitor’s pass. Additionally, the business owner received a summons to present valid documentation before the Law Enforcement Division.
The department also highlighted two prosecution cases. Muhammad Khanif, an Indonesian national, received a sentence of seven months’ imprisonment accompanied by three strokes of whipping for remaining in the country beyond the expiration of his immigration pass. In another case, Rukimiati, also from Indonesia, is facing a 22-month prison sentence on three charges: one for possessing another person’s passport or travel document without valid authorization, and two under the Penal Code.
