Two foreigners were detained during the 'OPS Pumpung JIPK'. The operation was tergetting vehicle repair activities carried out privately in Jalan Maulana, Kuala Belait.
An individual was found guilty under Section 15 1, Chapter 17, Immigration Act, for overstaying in the country after the immigration pass had expired on the 20th of January this year.
Meanwhile, another individual was found guilty under Section 36, Chapter 17, Immigration Act for illegally re-enter the country after being expelled. 12 cartons of Era cigarettes without a permit were found after a further inspection was made on his vehicle. The case is extended to the Royal Customs and Excise Department for further inspection.
Both individuals were detained and brought to the Law Enforcement Section, Immigration Department in Kuala Belait for further investigation and action. Meanwhile, the vehicle used was found to not have a road tax and the case has been forwarded to the Royal Brunei Police Force, Kuala Belait for further action.
