‘Operasi Tumpas’ JIPK

The Department of Immigration and National Registration, JIPK continues to conduct operations as well as take legal action against those who flout the law according to the jurisdiction provided. Any foreign nationals in the country who carry out offences will be taken action against and if found guilty will be produced in Court, incarcerated as well as deported back to their home country and their names blacklisted.

This was following the Operasi Tumpas JIPK 10 and 11/2022 conducted on the 7th of February which targeted 9 car wash premises in the Brunei Muara District, Belait District and Temburong District. From inspections carried out in the three districts, 19 male foreigners were found to have carried out several offences under the Immigration Act and Regulations, Chapter 17.

Meanwhile Operasi Tumpas JIPK 12/2022 carried out at a government building premise in Mukim Bangar on the 7th of February found that a foreign worker have overstayed in the country after the immigration pass has expired. Two other foreign workers were found to be employed not according to the occupation stated in the immigration pass. All of them were brought to the Law Enforcement Division, Department of Immigration and National registration for further investigation.
