A female foreign national working as a maid was arrested yesterday and investigated under Regulation 15(2) of the Immigration Act Chapter 17.
The ‘Ops Sepadu Tumpas’, focusing on Rental Rooms in Jalan Bunga Raya, Kuala Belait, was carried out by the Law Enforcement Division of the Department of Immigration and National Registration, Kuala Belait Branch and the Kuala Belait Labour Department. Under the regulation, any foreign workers working in the country must work according to the authorised employer. During the operation, the Department of Immigration and National Registration and the Labour Department have issued a summons letter to the employer and instructed them to attend for investigation and further action.
